L-PRES Enugu partners with Master Skills Development to conduct a two-day practical training for Livestock Farmers on business development and investment plan which aimed at training 450 livestock farmers in Enugu State. This initiative, aligned with The State Governor His Excellency Dr.Peter Mbah’s economic diversification strategy, focused on enhancing livestock productivity through modern techniques. The workshop covers essential skills in animal husbandry, including health practices, to empower farmers and improve their livelihoods. This training is part of a broader effort to revitalize the livestock sector in Enugu, ensuring sustainable agricultural practices and economic growth.
The workshop was broken into various value chain i.e Piggery, Poultry and Ruminants(Cattle and Goats) to enhance livestock productivity in helping Farmers receive hands-on training in modern livestock management techniques, improving their skills and knowledge also gain access to high-quality livestock breeds, superior feed, and veterinary services, which are essential for improving productivity and sustainability.
The training has also foster connections among livestock farmers thereby building corporation, facilitating better market access and ultimately leading to increased productivity and efficiency in livestock management, facilitating higher output and income for farmers. As these farmers improve their practices, there will be a ripple effect on local businesses, such as feed suppliers and veterinary services, stimulating economic growth. Additionally, the training promotes job creation and improves food security, contributing positively to the overall standard of living in the state.
The training ended with the farmer’s vote of thanks to the organisers of the training(L-PRES Enugu) and the Support of the Governor of Enugu State, His Excellency Dr.Peter Ndubuisi Mbah.
