L-PRES Enugu visits Enugu East Local Government as part of its livestock farmers’ sensitization and profiling initiative. The program aims to collect comprehensive data on local farmers, enhancing agricultural productivity and supporting rural livelihoods. This initiative aligns with the Enugu State government’s efforts to prioritize agriculture for economic development, particularly in livestock farming, which plays a crucial role in food security and rural income generation. The event included discussions on the importance of livestock management and the benefits of organized farmer groups.


Dr. Enoch Nnamani, Environmental officer of Enugu L-PRES who represented the State Project Coordinator emphasized the importance of profiling and sensitization for livestock farmers, this effort aims to enhance livestock productivity and resilience in Enugu State, aligning with the broader goals of the Livestock Productivity and Resilience Project (L-PRES) to improve agricultural practices and support local farmers.
Honourable Engr. Kingsley Obinna Anike, Deputy Chairman of Enugu East Local Government, welcomed the L-PRES Enugu team and pledged his support for their grassroots profiling exercise. This visit is part of L-PRES’s ongoing efforts to engage with local government areas in Enugu State for farmer sensitization and profiling.
L-PRES is working to ensure effective implementation of its programs at the grassroots level. This collaboration is crucial for the success of the project’s objectives, which include supporting smallholder farmers and strengthening the agricultural value chain across the state.


The support pledged by the Deputy Chairman is significant as it demonstrates local government buy-in, which is essential for the project’s success in reaching and benefiting farmers in Enugu East Local Government Area.
