The Enugu State Local Government Service Commission has demonstrated a strong commitment to grassroots development in livestock farming by collaborating with the Livestock Productivity and Resilience Support (L-PRES) initiative. This partnership aims to enhance the livelihoods of local farmers across the state’s 17 Local Government Areas (LGAs).

These collaborative efforts underscore the Enugu State government’s dedication to transforming the livestock sector through grassroots development, aiming to achieve food security and economic growth in the region.

Dr. Bath Ezeugwu (Member 3) and Mrs Amaka Nweke(Member 4) the newly appointed commissioners of the Enugu State Local Government Service Commission, have expressed a strong interest in enhancing grassroots development through strategic partnerships. Their recent visit to the Enugu Livestock Productivity and Resilience Support (L-PRES) project underscores this commitment.

During their visit, Dr. Ezeugwu and Mrs Nweke engaged in discussions with L-PRES officials to explore collaborative opportunities aimed at improving livestock farming practices at the grassroots level. The focus of these discussions was on implementing training programs, providing technical support, and introducing innovative agricultural practices to empower local farmers.

This initiative aligns with the Enugu State government’s broader objectives of promoting sustainable agricultural practices, enhancing food security, and boosting the livelihoods of rural communities. The State Project Coordinator for the Livestock Productivity and Resilience Support (L-PRES) project in Enugu State, Dr. Ifeyinwa Elizabeth Nnajieze has expressed a strong commitment to collaborating with the Enugu State Local Government Service Commission. She highlighted that L-PRES aims to equip farmers with essential skills and knowledge to improve their operations and profitability in the livestock sector. She noted that the project’s objectives align with the commission’s goals of promoting sustainable agricultural practices and supporting local farmers.
