“ESUT Vice-Chancellor, Agriculture Commissioner Praise Nnajieze’s Achievements with L-PRES Project

The Vice-Chancellor, Enugu State University of Science and Technology (ESUT), Prof. Aloysius Michaels Nnabugwu Okolie, has praised one of his staff, Dr. Ifeyinwa Nnajieze, who is currently the State Project Coordinator of the Livestock Productivity and Resilience Project (L-PRES). Prof. Okolie made these commendations on Tuesday, when Dr. Nnajieze, together with some investors in the agricultural sector from the United States of America, led by the Honourable Commissioner for Agriculture, Mr. Nwabueze Ubru, paid a courtesy call to his office at the ESUT Agbani campus.

He stated that Dr. Ifeyinwa Nnajieze, who until her appointment was a lecturer in the Department of Accountancy of the institution, has displayed charismatic leadership in the manner in which she has been piloting the affairs of L-PRES. He added that the university is very proud of her exploits, acknowledging her outstanding contributions to both the university and the broader agricultural sector in Enugu State.

 

Similarly, Enugu State Honourable Commissioner for Agriculture, Mr. Nwabueze Ubru, also applauded the commitment and dedication to service of Dr. Ifeyinwa Nnajieze.

Mr. Ubru made this commendation the same day with the Vice-Chancellor, when he paid a courtesy call to the Faculty of Management Sciences, Enugu State University of Science and Technology (ESUT) during the handover of the Deanship office.

 

The Honourable Commissioner had earlier visited the management of the institution together with some foreign-based investors from Texas A&M University-Kingsville, USA, to discuss partnership on agricultural capacity building, before stopping over briefly at the Faculty, where Dr. Nnajieze was pulled.

 

Mr. Ubru took a moment to interact with faculty members, praising the university’s dedication to producing skilled graduates who contribute meaningfully to Enugu State’s agricultural development.

 

He highlighted the critical role ESUT plays in shaping future agricultural leaders and innovators, stating that the collaboration with international institutions like Texas A&M University-Kingsville will only enhance the university’s impact in this field. Mr. Ubru further lauded Dr. Ifeyinwa Nnajieze for her exceptional leadership within the L-PRES project, adding that her efforts were not only driving positive change in livestock productivity but also inspiring confidence among local and international stakeholders.

 

“Her work represents the quality and dedication needed to push Enugu State to the forefront of agricultural development in Nigeria.”

Dr. Nnajieze, in her response, expressed her gratitude to the Honourable Commissioner and the university community for their support. She reaffirmed her commitment to ensuring that the L-PRES project continues to meet its objectives of improving livestock productivity and resilience in the state.

 

She also amplified the need for continuous collaboration between the government, academic institutions, and international partners to sustain agricultural growth, calling on the university to capitalize on the opportunities presented by the Regional Model Veterinary Hospital currently under construction at Akwuke, Enugu.
