The Women Support Women Community Network (WOSCONET) celebrated International Women’s Day in grand style at the Ibeagwa Town Hall, Ibeagwa Nike, Enugu. The event was marked by inspiring speeches and vibrant discussions, bringing together women leaders, advocates, and community members to honor the achievements of women and emphasize the importance of solidarity and empowerment. The celebration featured powerful speeches and appearances from notable figures, including:
- Dr. Mrs. Happiness Anike, the First Lady of Enugu East Local Government Area
- Pastor Ambassador Obodoekwe-Izuora Kate, a leading advocate for women’s empowerment
- Dr. Ifeyinwa Elizabeth Nnajiéze, State Project Coordinator of L-PRES Enugu
- Ambassador Amaka Nweke, Founder of WOSCONET
The State Project Coordinator L-PRES Enugu, Dr Ifeyinwa Elizabeth Nnajieze during her session sensitized the (WOSCONET) on the importance of women becoming actively involved in livestock farming. The aim was to raise awareness about the potential benefits and opportunities in the livestock sector, highlighting how women can play a significant role in the industry. The coordinator emphasized the need for women to be properly profiled, recognizing their contributions and ensuring they receive the necessary support and recognition to thrive in the agricultural sector.
