L-PRES Enugu partners SUNCHI Integrated Farms to enhance livestock production and commercialization in Enugu State. This collaboration aims to address challenges in the sector and empower farmers in areas such as cattle, piggery, and poultry farming, focusing on boosting productivity and addressing disease management. Sunchi Integrated Farms, established in 2013, operates breeder farms, hatcheries, feed mills, and a soybean oil refinery, significantly contributing to Nigeria’s poultry and agricultural sectors.

L-PRES Enugu has engaged with various groups, including religious organizations like the Destiny Men, to sensitize members about livestock farming opportunities. These efforts are part of L-PRES’s broader mission to improve livestock productivity and resilience in the state.

Dr. Ifeyinwa Elizabeth Nnajieze, the State Project Coordinator for the Livestock Productivity and Resilience Support Project (L-PRES) in Enugu State, emphasizes the importance of sensitizing and profiling livestock farmers to enhance the sector’s productivity and resilience and address challenges faced by farmers and foster economic growth through targeted support in key value chains such as cattle, goats, sheep, pigs, and poultry. These efforts underscore Dr. Nnajieze’s commitment to equipping farmers with essential skills and knowledge, enhancing their operations, and promoting sustainable agricultural practices in Enugu State.
