Pig farmers sensitization and awareness program held on Saturday 26th October 2024 at Nkubo Road, Enugu East LGA.
L-PRES Enugu visited the Piggery farmers in Nkubo, Enugu East Local Government and were recently sensitized about the economic benefits from the World bank and which is been supported by the Enugu State government to strengthen the livestock of the state. The initiative aimed to enhance their knowledge on improving productivity and profitability. Key issues addressed included feed costs, disease management, and the necessity for better access to credit facilities.
Dr.Obinna Ugwu, A Veterinary Doctor from L-PRES Enugu encouraged the Farmers to form clusters to improve resource use and efficiency in pig production, as many face constraints such as high operational costs and inadequate extension services, and sensitize them on the benefits livestock farmers will enjoy from the project at hand powered by the world bank and supported by the Enugu State government. The chairman and the members of the cooperative were happy to hear the good news.
