The SPC Dr.Ifeyinwa Nnajeze started by welcoming the committee and expressed her appreciation to the Commissioner for Agriculture and Chairman Chief of staff Enugu State, Special Adviser on Government related issues and others for their support to ensuring the state gain her position back in the Agricultural sector through the World Bank project on Livestock 3 Value Chains which entails Poultry, Piggery and Cattle.
The Commissioner for Agriculture commends the SPC Dr.Ifeyinwa Nnajeze on her doggedness to the project. He also commend the committee for coming to make the project a reality.
Commissioner for Agriculture thank SPC for a brief introduction about L-PRES . He stated that agriculture is divided into four segments , Livestock is one of the segments of agriculture and is very important to our existence. He shared his immense gratitude to the Governor, the chief of staff, SPA donors for the tireless process back and front to getting L-PRES boarded, He also commend SPA agriculture and SPA unit for their hard work. He promise not to forget all efforts they all put to bringing Enugu state L-PRES to the list and that by the special grace of God when the livestock sector starts experiencing boom, they will all be proud to be part of the excellent team.\
He explained reasons for the committee which is to fulfill one of the commissions taking part in LPress programmes and emphasis that committee must be inaugurated to run some basic functions and ensure that everything that should be done at the state level must be done..
The rules and responsibilities are
1. To provide strategic orientation , policy guidance and direction for the project at the state level
2 .Ensuring that all project amenities meets minimum requirement
3. Reviewing and approving the state annual procrument planning
4. Reviewing and approving the state technical financial report
The membership of the state committee is consist of the Commissioner of Agriculture, NAFDAC, State ministry of agriculture, Nigerian
Institution of Animal Science, minister of water resources, state minister of finance. The Inaugural process was conducted , It was said by the Commissioner of Agriculture that the committee will be meeting once every six months and there will be a plan to take off in a weeks time to return in the next six months or an emergency .
